What's the best way to dry chest waders?!? 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi there,

I took delivery of my very first pair of chest waders last week and finally managed to taken them out in the mud last night!! They felt amazing but the mud was a bit of a let down to be honest... Sticky but not very deep at all... I'll wait for the depths of winter I think!

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on effective and quick drying of waders?!? They are mostly dry now but the boots themselves are still wet inside! I could do with getting them packed away asap but can't if they are still wet!! EEEK!

Hi mate. So you suffer from sweaty wader syndrome too? I love wearing mine in deep mud too in winter especially but it is a pain airing them out. I got hold of a Peet boot drier with wader extension tubes and it works brilliantly, totally dry overnight and often far quicker. Whatever you do don't pack them away damp especially if they have a canvas lining as it will rot and your waders will be full of mould and some of them are pretty dangerous to inhale. You can also get Dampires which are large bags of silica gel sold for drying drysuits which suffer the same problem. A hair drier might work but don't leave it as it could catch fire. We all think muddy waders are hot but not burnt. Try and get a Peet, though they not easy to find in a UK voltage. Therm-ic do driers too and they are fairly cheap. Try eBay. Stay muddy and enjoy those chestie!

Too muddy? Wear wellies. Too deep? Wear waders. Want more? Get sealed up in a mudsuit and have fun!

Hi Having had this problem to, my solution was to use a hair dryer.
Peel the waders down as best you can and then play the dryer inside the boot.
Takes a bit of time but well worth it.
Have fun.
Next time you are uot I wouldn't mind joining you.

Please don't take offence, but for me, getting dresed up in rubber and playing in the mud is a very personal thing so I've no intention of getting involved with other guys thanks... finding a girl to play in the mud with on the other hand is a different matter altogether! That's a bit of a holy grail though it seems!!

Hi Folks,

have you ever tried the wader-store-suspender (or how shall I name it)

Its a piece of iron, which you can mount on the wall in a warm room. Hang your waders bottom up in the iron and they will become dry.
